Day 365: the end of a chapter

I can't believe the year of taking a photo a day is over! In the past year, I've gotten engaged, moved in with a boy (yikes!), and started planning a wedding. The very first photo I took, one year ago today, was of my new single-girl apartment. I was so excited to live alone, and I'm so glad that I did. Once you're married, you (hopefully!) never live alone again. I thought it was only fitting that my last photo be of my new, almost-married girl apartment. It's messy, kind of like my life right now. But it's also kind of perfect. And if you look closely, you can see Zoe popping her head out of the blanket. Love her! She sure graced the pages of this blog often.

2010 was a great year. But 2011 is bound to be even better.

Day 364: Try 'Em

They're Target brand.
They're cheap.
And they're the best tortilla chips I've ever had outside a restaurant.

Do yourself a favor and try 'em today. You can thank me later.

Day 363: Accidental Fashion

I had to be at Love Field at 6am today to take some pictures, so I got dressed in the dark. I was certain that the tights I pulled out of my drawer would totally clash with the dress I threw on, but at 5:30am, I truly couldn't care less. Imagine my shock when the last-year Target tights almost completely match the tan stripes in my this-year Loft dress. How random! Love when that happens. And here I was convinced I'd be a walking catastrophe today at work.....

Day 362: Snoooooooow

It snowed in Dallas!! Although my neck of the woods didn't get too much, it actually stuck on the ground a little bit. I secretly love this time of the year--probably because I don't have to drive on any freeways/overpasses, it only lasts about a week, and it's just oh-so-pretty.

Day 361: Love Field Parking Wins Again

I can't count how many times I've parked in the same freaking parking lot at Love Field. And yet I manage to get lost finding my car every.single.time. Because here's the thing. I'm on Level 1 Row C, right? Well guess what--there's more than one Level 1 Row C. So you'll walk the whole darn thing about to rip your hair out before you finally stumble upon your car 20 minutes later. And did I mention it was snowing outside, and I didn't have a coat? Welcome home!

Day 360: Bachelorette Time!!!

Today, we flew to New Orleans to celebrate Keeks' last fling before the ring! Twelve of us enjoyed {what felt like} several hundred hurricanes, shots, beers, beads, bruises, and laughs. It was a good time for all, and--most importantly--Keeks had a blast.

Now I just can't wait until her wedding!

Day 359: Waiting, Waiting, Waiting

Today's all about the waiting game. I'm waiting for my sister and Joey to come in town for the Cotton Bowl. Waiting for it to be tomorrow so I can go to New Orleans for Keeks' bachelorette party. When will this day end????

Day 358: FOUND!

After two days with no keys (and having to drive Brian to work, take his car to work, then pick him back up), I finally FOUND THE KEYS! They were hidden inside this little box of food (which can't be put up yet, since we don't have a freakin' pantry). Yaaaay! Now they can live on my pretty little hook, and I shall never lose them again.

Day 357: Necklace Problem Solved

I have a lot of necklaces and never had a good way of storing them all without tangling. But when I was at the Container Store the other day, I picked up this little tie hook for inside my closet. A couple of nails later, and I have a fab-u-lous way of hanging all my necklaces. Seriously love it!

Day 356: Mystery

Tonight I was determined to put the kitchen in order. Boxes are consuming our lives, and I'm sick of it. In the midst of making it all pretty (as seen above), I lost my keys. And I don't mean I found them 20 minutes later. I mean I lost them. And I fear they may never be found. Oh, did I mention they're the keys to my parents' Tahoe? Score.

Day 355: Pantry

Why, oh why, do some apartments not have pantries? Just because we don't own a home, we don't eat? Our fab new apartment, while great in so many ways, lacks a pantry. So I went to the Container Store and picked up this little number for the door in the kitchen that leads to the laundry nook. It's great, but definitely not a substitue for a "real" pantry. Oh well. Guess that means I don't have to cook that much??

Day 354: Adios, Single Girl Apartment

It's been real. I shall miss you and your freedom to let me watch whatever trashy reality shows I want, without a boy making fun of me.

Day 353: i live with a boy

WEIRD.

Day 352: Oh yeah, it's NYE

So in the midst of moving into our new apartment (EEK!!), I completely forgot it was New Years Eve. And then I saw this limo. And lots of fun people, dressed up in fun clothes, going out for a fun night. And then I got a little sad. But then I remembered that I was old, and walking down McKinney Ave in a sparkly dress and 4-inch heels in the freezing cold just didn't seem as appealing as it once did. Weird.

Day 351: Zoe doesn't want to move

I think she did this out of protest. Or maybe it was boredom. But I'm going with protest....

Day 350: Happy Birthday, Brian!

Brian's old. Like really old. And I love that I can say that, because you know what? No matter how old *I* get--he'll always be older :)

He didn't want to do anything for his birthday, so I just cooked dinner at his apartment. Of course, no birthday celebration is complete without dessert, so I whipped up his fave--blackberry cobbler!

Happy birthday, Brian!

Day 349: Snuggle Time

Soon, Zoe and I will live with a boy. And we won't get anymore snuggle time alone. So I'm soaking up my time now! (Side note: Cutest Zoe pic ever? Me thinks it's up there.)

Day 348: well, what do ya know?

Apparently when you live an apartment full of boxes to go home for Christmas....they're still there (and not packed) when you get back. Whoda thunk it?

Day 347: Cool Aunt

So my goal in life is to be the Cool Aunt. You know, the one who gives you the best toys and plays with you all the time. As such, I purchased my nephew what could quite possibly be the best present ever. Move over Santa, Aunt Kristy's in town!

Day 346: Merry Christmas!

Day 345: Worst . Drive . Ever .

Not only was I in the "It's Christmas Eve, let's all drive to Austin" traffic. It looked like this outside. For my ENTIRE DRIVE. Zoe slept. I fought back tears. We arrived 5 hours later.

Day 344:Boxes, Boxes, Boxes

They're taking over my apartment. And my life.

Day 343: starting 'em young

I went to Target during lunch today to pick up some last-minute gifts for the cutest kids in the world. And I stumbled upon this little display in the girls toy aisle. Apparently Matel is starting girls young on the path to becoming fashionistas? I mean.....seriously??
